A Prayer in a Quaking Temple

source

based on Isaiah 6:1-8

Faithful God, our world is shaking.

Our legs are becoming weak as we struggle to maintain our balance.

At any moment, it feels as if the ceiling will crumble and come down upon our heads.

Who are we in the midst of such disorder? What are our minds, tongues, hearts, and hands as all that we know threatens to fail and falter?

Regardless, you see something within us and you call it forward. Despite our imperfection, we still have something to make hope and healing.

Here we are. Send us forth to repair, rebuild, or steady as we are able.

Amen.
