You may or may not be aware that I have a newsletter. I started it shortly after I published my first book, thinking that it’s one of those essential things that an author should have.
Subscribers get a monthly update that includes a roundup of blog posts and podcast episodes, plus a short newsletter-exclusive piece of writing. If something special happens—usually the release of a new book—then you get an extra email that month.
In other words, I try really hard to avoid having subscribers think, “Ugh, this guy again?”
If the content and/or frequency doesn’t sell you on signing up, how about this:

(This is a new thing that I’ve just set up, in case any current subscribers read this and wonder where their book is.)

- Check your inbox (it may go to your spam folder) for a confirmation message.
- Click the link in the email to download your book.
- Eventually enjoy receiving my monthly newsletter.
