For 17 years, I kept another blog before moving to this site. While there, I wrote several times a week about a variety of topics, mostly spirituality, pastoral ministry, and popular culture. On January 6th of this year, I finally bade farewell to that site. I wanted a change in online venues, and to approach writing in a different way.
For almost the entirety of that blog’s existence, I pondered compiling the posts that I felt best about into a book. But in nearly two decades of blogging, I never got serious enough about putting this project together.
Now that that writing chapter has concluded, this seems like the right time to finally make this more than an idea. I think of it as a further act of closure for that creative venture, and to allow some of the entries from that space to enjoy a second life.
And so I present to you my new ebook No Perfect Time: Brief Essays on Life and Faith. It officially releases on March 7th, but you can pre-order it now.
No Perfect Time is a compilation of 50 blog entries, touching on ministry, church, theology, writing, and parenting. It also includes eight prayers that I published there over the years.
I’m excited to finally put this into the world. As I say in the Preface, I hope that reading these entries helps your life journey the way writing them did for mine.

And, as always, thanks for reading.
