An Unenthusiastic Promise

You can’t always tell when a promise will be kept. Hindsight is often 20/20.

But there are times when there will be clues, perhaps as soon as the words are uttered.

Watch the body language. Listen to the tone, the inflection, the feeling.

You may be able to see immediately that it won’t be honored.

And when you see it coming, or when you realize it later, that will bring a reaction.

Consequences? Maybe. But certainly a reaction.

If you are the one unenthusiastic about your promise, be prepared for when that reaction comes.
