Fall Reading 2025

My favorite time of year has rolled back around. Among so many other things–changing leaves, cooler temps, college football, Halloween, Thanksgiving–it means I need a new reading list. My summer list was great.

Here’s what I’m planning to read before the end of the year:

  • The Asian Journal of Thomas Merton
  • Slow Productivity: The Lost Art of Accomplishment Without Burnout by Cal Newport
  • Follow Your Bliss and Other Lies About Calling by Bonnie J. Miller-McLemore
  • Killer Librarian by Mary Lou Kirwin
  • Monsters: A Fan’s Dilemma by Claire Dederer
  • The Ballad of Smallhope and Pennyroyal by Jodi Taylor
  • Holy Disruption: Discovering Advent in the Gospel of Mark by Tracy S. Daub

A few novels, some season-appropriate reading, and of course something for Advent.

What are you planning to read this fall?

Here are a few suggestions if you need them.
